Contemporary Metal and Timber Sculptures by Richard Andreucetti

"What Colour Is Metal challenges the way we see and feel material. Through copper, steel and timber, I explore the tension between warmth and coldness, strength and fragility, permanence and change.
Each sculpture begins with a question rather than a plan. The process of shaping, heating, and patinating becomes a conversation with the metal — revealing unexpected hues, textures, and tones. In dialogue with timber, the metal’s rigidity softens; the wood’s organic character finds balance in the industrial.
The title What Colour Is Metal reflects my fascination with perception. Under light, metal holds every colour, from the deep reds of oxidised copper to the silvery blues of polished steel. These sculptures invite viewers to look closer, to discover that colour is not only seen, but felt."
